Soul Destruction's
involvement with the IWA Carnage show at Bolton Field in Columbus on Sunday
July16th was great fun for all involved. Aside from initial power supply
problems which were quickly remedied by lead vocalist Aaron Werner (thank
you, thank you) the band and the IWA fans alike had a fun-filled afternoon.
Among the highlights of the event were the 3-way title match for the US
Heavyweight belt that was won by Dangerous Damien Kas over the newly re-introduced
Shane Christian and another wrestler that the IWA fans affectionately referred
to as "Barney" and "Grimace". Another highlight of the bill was the appearance
of The Sheik, a favorite of the boys In Soul Destruction. The band performed
live before the show began, and during the intermission playing old favorites
as well as new material. SD also gave the IWA fans a special treat when
they performed their "special" version of Quiet Riot's Metal Health as
the intro music for the Hitchhiker. Special thanks go out to the Hitchhiker
for his purchase of SD's CD United IN Obscurity… Hitchhiker and the band
have also discussed the adoption of one of the band's songs from the CD
as his intro music as well! That (along with hardcore tag-team Suicide
Solution's use of Evil vs. Evil) will make two of the IWA's top stars using
SD's music in the show! Needless to say, the foundation of a great relationship
is being laid between the IWA and Soul Destruction. Each member of Soul
Destruction suffered painful sunburns (even Turk) from being out in the
blistering sun for over 8 hours. Special thanks to Budweiser and Bud Light
for allowing us not to feel it until the next morning at least. Thanks
as well to the good folks at JP's BBQ stand who provided the band with
some much needed food after a long hot day of music and beer. More special
thanks go out Lynnette Stephenson and the folks at Sound Ideas for their
help with the band's PA for this event. Thanks as well to SD webmasters
Chad and Casi Strohm who attended the event, as well as fellow musicians
John Boyd (ex-Witch Hunt) and Wolfen Society Members Kyle Sevren (ex-Incantation)
and Vincent Crowley (ex-Acheron). Of course a huge thanks to the IWA and
Bull Miller for allowing SD to become involved with this great event! Let's
do it again very soon!
Soul Destruction returns
to the Empire State of New York on Saturday, August 5th at the Continental
in Buffalo. SD had a great time on it's last visit to the Continental with
buddies Cabalyst, but this time SD is going it alone. Everyone in the Buffalo
area come out and show SD your support!
Beware...
SD booking is currently
working out details for the band to perform for the first time in Zanesville,
OH. Stay tuned for details...
