Soul Destruction-"United in Obscurity..."-1998
Death from the Mid-West!! I`ve been waiting to get my hands on this bad boy and lemme tell ya,it was WORTH it!"Scorched Earth Policy" is most definitely the mind-set SD were in when they recorded this monster,`cuz this CD leaves NOTHING standing in its` wake!Front to back,"United..." is a winner.Every cut is a collage of Metals` stylistic diversity;Death,Thrash,Speed/Power,you name it,it`s here! Don`t get me wrong, this ain`t no kitchen sink approach, just a perfect example of intellegent, articulate song-writing,delivered with all the subtley of a wrecking ball! The band{Ron Cardwell-bass,Turk Elliot-drums,Randy
Reynolds-guitar,& vocalist/frontman/all around cool MO`FO` Aaron Werner} are all first-rate musicians, and this is clearly evident on tunes like "Follow Me","Anger Process"{personal fave},"Punish the Children",and "Soul Destruction".It`s not fair to single out these tracks `cuz they`re ALL ass-kickers!And you can remember the songs long after you`ve heard `em,a trait of ANY true Metal classic, which this album most certainly is!Yeah, you BETTER get this!

Here is a well recorded CD of power/thrash metal.  9 tunes on this one, that will appeal to fans of PANTERA, MACHINE HEAD, maybe STUCK MOJO, etc.  The guitar sound is nice and heavy, the bass is pretty much tight with the guitar, the vocals are tough-guy power metal vocals, but occasionally they get deeper and sound more death metal.  The drums are solid and recorded well, every last cymbal can be heard clearly.  The song I
liked the most was "Punish The Children" because it was one of the more faster moving songs, at least in the start.  Visit their website for sound samples.  Overall, this CD is a bit slow moving for my tastes, but will
appeal to fans of metal to mosh to.  Nothing musically amazing here, but definitely a solid release for a first CD.

This is a KILLER young band out of OHIO. They call their band a LETHAL MIDWESTERN POWER / DEATH / THRASH Metal band!!! Well I think that describes their sound very well!!! This C.D. is a very powerfull, and very well done self financed C.D.!! The sound and artwork is very clean and crisp!!! Every metal fan should give this band a try, so come on, go to their page from my metal links page, and order the C.D.!!! Don't miss out on one of the prime up-coming metal acts.

A decent 3 song demo with good production and fat stomping
guitars. The overall sound reminds me of Testament displaying very
smooth lead and backing vocals. Lots of thrashing crunch rhythms
and solid drumming throughout. "Anger Process" and "The Cause"
are the best tracks. Keep and eye out for Soul Destruction. They are
versatile, but retain all the qualities you would expect from a
revengeful power metal group.

The first band of the night was a local Columbus band called "Soul
Destruction". They started playing at 7, which was supposed to be
when the doors opened.  Anyway, I thought they were pretty
good.  A mix of thrash and death metal. they  got a minimal crowd
response but that's probably because half the  people weren't at the
show yet.  Soul Destruction had demos and shirts for sale, but by
the time I got back to the merchandise table I didn't see anything
which was disappointing.  Hopefully Soul Destruction will get the
recognition they deserve because they are pretty good!

Soul Destruction - The drummer was really good, and a couple
songs got my attention. "Evil Vs. Evil" and "Suffer The Children"
grabbed me because they grooved in that Sabbath vein. The vocalist
told the crowd to "go f*cking crazy!" That's showmanship for you...
